It generally is better to start a new PR when the previous PR was rejected for being too big.

You can, and we can help you with that if you want but I do agree with @mk-mxp that it may be easier to “just create a new one”.
PRs content is wholly based on a branch contents, so if new changes are pushed to the branch-fork combination you used, then the (closed PR) automatically updates.
