When a student requests mentoring they get asked two things:
What are you hoping to learn from this track?
Tell our mentors a little about your programming background and what you’re aiming to learn from C.
and
How can a mentor help you with this solution?
Give your mentor a starting point for the conversation. This will be your first comment during the session. Markdown is permitted.
But I’ve seen so many solutions in the queue where the students did not understand that.
Some with two questions put one in each textbox (and the first one is hidden by default and therefore easy to miss), others write the exact same text in the two textboxes.
Can we rephrase the prompts to make them easier to understand?
How about something like
About you
Tell our mentors a little about your programming background and what you’re aiming to learn from C.
and
About your solution
Give your mentor a starting point for the conversation. This will be your first comment during the session. Markdown is permitted.
