The Doctor Data initial files’ contents have gibberish like “Ädacöiömx1ö % Äswapö % Äaddöiömy1ö % Ädacöiömy1ö % Ärandomö % Äscrö9sö %” .
However, once most of the filler garbage characters are removed such as Ä and ö, it looks like PDP-1 code.
Claude says it’s likely code from the very first computer game, Spacewar! (1962) written on and for the PDP-1. Which is appropriate, since the theme of the exercise is the Bobiverse by Dennis E. Taylor, which deals with von Neumann probes and space combat.
This was a fun find!
