Help test the Futhark track

Hi all! @keiraville and I have been building the Futhark track. It’s now available to maintainers for testing. Here’s hoping some of you might be willing to test the track.

A minor thing is that our docs point to the official installation docs, but it’s unclear if we need to do everything listed. There’s mention of additional dependencies for running the compiled output beyond what’s needed to install and run the compiler.

That’s true–the installation instructions for MacOS were sufficiently daunting that I didn’t even attempt it. Later, when I worked up the courage to do brew install futhark, I found that it finished in a few seconds and did everything that I needed for Exercism.

First impressions are good, but this language could really benefit from a “Learn X in Y minutes” cheat sheet!

I’ve gone through about 2/3 of the exercises without a hitch–excellent work creating this track! Now I have run into a problem with High Scores. The instructions advise installing the sorts package from github.com/diku-dk/sorts. This works fine on my own machine, but the test runner doesn’t seem to have this package. I get the message

Could not read file "/mnt/exercism-iteration/lib/github.com/diku-dk/sorts/radix_sort.fut".

when I submit my solution.

Confirmed. The example solution fails when submitted online.

When I solved the exercise, I didn’t notice the hint and wrote my own sort.

Thanks all for testing. I’ll do some work to fix the issues
