I wish to learn code in a fun way and it is extremely hard on here and the instructions are not useful

I just started learning code since I want to create a game with lua but I can’t learn on here because these instructions give no help and are utterly pointless and give no sense on direction on what to do even though it says when you join that it is an easy and fun way to learn but it is not easy

Most of the Exercism tracks assume you have the basic foundations of programming. If you’re lacking those, Exercism is launching a course shortly that helps you learn those! Other popular resources for the foundations of programming include Harvard’s CS50 course.

but the problem is it says easy to use learning program for beginners and i am one but it is not easy to use and it should teach us steps and give suggestions on what codes to begin with and give specialized exercises based on our level
I shall not keep struggling and using external sources for help to use an “easy coding website”
Earn up to the name of being an easy way to learn code and help out begginers with hints and tips

The Lua track doesn’t have a syllabus so Exercism doesn’t teach Lua. Other tracks/languages do provide a syllabus with lessons that help you learn. It sounds like Exercism might not be the right site for you if you’re looking for an intro to coding in Lua.

If it says that, let us know where. As it is known that this is not the case, and has not been the target until recently. Only a relatively small portion of the site is set up for this, specifically, and having it state this, if it does, might be only in relation to the very targeted portion of the site.

Other than the qualifier of “for beginners”, if you were to drop that off, we would like to think that it is “easy to use learning programming”, but the qualifier is not in general exactly the case.

So we should look at that quote, if you can let us know where it says that, so that we can fix it and make sure that it is clearer.

I keep seeing ads about it and a guy on youtube said that this was a fun and easy way. his name is Matty McTech on youtube it is part 383

We can’t control what people say. Matty isn’t part of the Exercism staff.

I do not see the material, but it was not stated that they also said “for beginners”. I think, then, that expectations were presumed where there were none intended to be given.

Fun and Easy are definitely subjective though. If you are interested in programming as a beginner, though, the Coding Fundamentals is likely the place you would want to go.

Fun and easy… well, it can be fun. The easy comes with experience, which this is designed to provide that path. We think it is fun, students have told us it is fun. It is definitely designed for beginners to programming, in a way that challenges, but is not so challenging that it becomes frustrating.

It is going to be available (again) for the first time, soon, IsaacG posted the link in a message above about “launching a course”.
