Introduction revamp for the resistor colors series

Resistor Colour
You work in a small factory that makes 1-band resistors. Normally, there is a program, the RES-check, to check your work. However, it is no longer working properly. Your boss promises you a promotion and a raise if you can fix the RES-check’s code and make sure it works properly with the new, brighter rings that were recently introduced to make it easier for people on the night shift.

Resistor Colour Duo
After you fixed the RES-check, your boss promoted you to a code assistant. In your first task in this new role, you are needed to fix the RES-check-2000 at another of the the factories. While the main coder fixes the scanning system, you are going to fix the colour-checking system, which is not compatible with the new colour of bands.

Resistor Colour Trio
After finishing up you first task as a code assistant, you moved to Farcin Valley to help your main coder ,who handles all the RES-check versions. You are handling the RES-Checker-V3, and as the head coder and 2 of his assistants reprogram the scanning, you and the had coder’s advisor fix the color connections and the checker code

I was thinking Resistor Color might be the first paragraph below. Resistor Color Duo is the first paragraph plus the second paragraph. Resistor Color Trio would be all three paragraphs. So you don’t need to explicitly call back to the earlier exercises but they have a shared framework.

“Exploring your parents’ attic one day, you find your grandfather ’s old electronics repair box with the resistors all mixed up. Unfortunately, his handwritten instructions are illegible. You decide to organize the resistors, but first you must identify each band’s value.”

“After identifying the resistor’s value, you realize quickly one band isn’t enough. The second band must be important to the value.”

“Squinting at the resistors, you see a third band. Perhaps that’s important as well.”

How about Resistor Color Expert?

Version 2

Resistor Colour
You work in a small factory that makes 1-band resistors. The program that determines the ohms to label for selling is the RES-Check, However, it is no longer working properly. Your boss promises you a promotion and a raise if you can fix the RES-Check’s code and make sure it works properly.

As a code assistant at Millais Valley, you work with other assistants to fix RES-Checks. Today, you are fixing a RES-Check-2000. You think it is the same as RES-Check, which only checks 1-band and is the type you normally work with, but a quick glance makes you realise that the RES-Check-2000 checks for 2 bands, making it more complex.

Resistor Colour Trio
As a code assistant at Saline Valley, you work with other assistants to fix RES-Checks at the main factory. Today, you are handling the RES-Checker-V3, and you find there is a big difference between the ones you normally work on, and the one you are working on today.

Resistor Color Expert
As the head coder at Saline Valley, you work with your assistants to fix RES-Checks at the main factory. Today, you are handling the RES-Checker-4000, and you receive info that it handles multiple types of resistors, and that you must be ready for something new.
