Issue when running command "exercism test" for Hello World! exercise

,

Issue when running the test command.
while compiling “test.out” it is trying to write into some assembly(.s file) in temp folder.
But that operation is failing.
Can anyone help me with this?

The workspace path is not a valid Windows path. You want something like C:\one\two

Hello IsaacG.

Thank you very much for the reply.
You mean C:/abc/xyz/xxx.s right?

@Harivardhan1027 In the very small screenshot you gave us, we cannot see more than “there seems to be an invalid Windows path”. It helps to show us more of what your screen shows, preferably as a formatted markdown code block (grafik) not as a screen shot.

What workspace path have you set as the CLI configuration? What’s the command running in (CMD, PowerShell, WSL, …)? Every bit of information can help…

Hello @mk-mxp and @IsaacG

Thank you for the valuable replies.

I finally found out it was the issue with

  1. the Compiler of Msys64 that is using different path format than normal MingW Compiler or windows default compiler.
  2. Multiple gcc.exe files available via different paths added in Environmental Variables.
  3. And My lack of experience in using Visual Studio Community especially compiler settings(Not Visual Studio Code)

Pardon me for coming with insufficient information and inconvenience caused.
Next time I face an issue I will come with proper Information.

Thank you again for valuable response.
Let’s engage more. :innocent: :slightly_smiling_face:
