I’m writing on behalf of a friend who is having trouble with an Exercism account. During the account creation process, my friend accidentally entered the wrong email address (a dot was missing). Because of this mistake, the verification code needed to confirm the account was never received.
My friend waited about 10 days, hoping that the unverified account would be automatically deleted, but it has not been removed. Currently, it’s impossible to recreate the account using the same username. An email was sent to support a few weeks ago with more details about the issue, but no reply has been received.
Is there a way to correct the email mistake or reset the account so it can be recreated? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello! I have almost the same problem, but I don’t remember what I entered in the email field.
I’ve been trying to do this for a long time, but I can’t change my handle. I always get the same message: ‘unable to change handle’.
When I created my account, I chose my handle correctly (wellingtonmnf). But I created another account (I didn’t know I could only change my email on the initial account) and since then I haven’t been able to change my handle that I chose previously. I think it’s stuck associated with the previous account in the Excercism database.
I really want to do this, so… How can I deal with this situation?
I would like to put the handle: ‘wellingtonmnf’ on this account and delete my previous account. Any chance to fix this situation?
I’ve updated the your wellingtonmnfdev account to have the handle wellingtonmnf on both Exercism and on here.
I’ve not deleted the old account as you’ve not provided me proof of your identity. But as the account is basically unused I don’t think this matters at all.
On a housekeeping note, in future, please start new topics and don’t double post across multiple threads - thank you
