Kotlin "Darts" exercise question

Hello, I’m a bit confused by the test:

@Test
    fun `just outside the inner circle`() = assertEquals(5, Darts.score(0.8, -0.8))

Based on the instructions:

and the inner circle a radius of 1.

Wouldn’t a x and y coord of 0.8, -0.8 fall within that radius? Or am I mistaken?

The circle is a circle, not a square. (0.8, 0.8) is more than 1 distance from the center.
