This commit will:

  • make the term “figure” clear to people who have never played blackjack before

This is also known (perhaps more commonly, even) as a “face card”, as I have never heard of it called a “figure” even though my stepmother is/was a professional blackjack dealer, and while I worked at a Casino, have never heard them referred to as a “figure”.

I wonder if it’s a regional term. I’ve never heard of a figure card, but growing up in Ohio, face card was the term everybody used. Much less common, a picture card would be the face cards plus the ace, but that was always a bit confusing since my family had several 36-card Bavarian pattern decks where all the cards had motifs on them.

I haven’t heard of the term figure either. Hence, I made the PR

I’ve reopened the PR and suggested we change it to say “face card” as that’s a much more common name.
