PRs Reviewed Not Reflecting on Profile

Hi everyone ,

I recently started reviewing pull requests on the Java track under the guidance of @kahgoh, the maintainer. A few of these PRs have already been merged and list me as a reviewer on GitHub, but my Exercism profile still shows “No PRs reviewed” under the contributions section.

I initially brought this up with Kah, and we waited a bit thinking the system might just need time to sync, but it’s been a while now, and it still hasn’t updated. Kah recommended I raise this on the forum.

Just wanted to know:

  • Is there anything specific I need to do (like linking something) for these contributions to show up?
  • Is there a known delay or any conditions that must be met for review contributions to appear on the profile?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can offer!

I may be wrong, but if you are not a maintainer your reviews won’t be counted on Exercism or give you rep. Until you become a maintainer. Then everything you’ve done will show up. I recall this has happened in my case.

This is correct. Maintaining repo is only for maintainers. The reason for this is that otherwise people go round spamming on PRs to try and get rep, so we limited it only to org members.

@jagdishdrp That aside, thank for all your work. Maybe eventually you’ll end up as a maintainer?

Understood—no worries at all!

I’ll keep contributing and learning… and who knows, maybe I’ll become a maintainer someday too.

Hey again

It’s been more than a week since I officially joined as a maintainer on the Java track, and I’ve been actively reviewing and merging PRs since then.

I just noticed something odd. When I co-review a PR (often with @kahgoh), the review shows up on his profile, but not on mine. I do get the contribution credit for merging, but not for reviewing, even in cases where I’ve suggested changes that were implemented before merging.

Just wanted to check if I’m still missing something config-wise, or if reviews only start reflecting after a certain threshold?

Here’s my profile for reference: jagdishdrp's contributions to Exercism

Is this not what you’re looking for?

I thought we would get both separately like this

Ah. Yes. It should, if you get a green (not neutral) checkmark (which means you have write access).

cc @iHiD (still out IIRC, but he probably knows why you’re not getting that).

Yep, there seems to be a green checkmark!
