I’ve re-started getting stuff together for the SNOBOL4 track. I’ve got a tester figured out (though I’m hoping, should the S*BOL community get involved, that someone will write something better), and I’ve got LEAP, ISOGRAM, and PANGRAM mostly written out.
The exercises I’ve selected for the initial release are:
Leap
RNA Transcription
Resistor Color
Scrabble Score
Pangram
Isogram
Armstrong Numbers
Acronym
Word Count
Nucleotide Count
Bob
Rotational Cipher
Phone Number
ETL
Allergies
ISBN Verifier
Anagram
Luhn
Simple Cipher
Pig Latin
Run
Matching Brackets
Contributions welcome. Obviously, if you contribute some other exercise solution, I’m not going to reject it out of hand.
The approach I’m taking is to get students used to labels and flow control first rather than starting with functions (using DEFINE). Understanding the Success/Failure branching paradigm is a must, and had I the time to do “Concepts” it would be one of the first, if not the first.
Oh, and I’m targeting Phil Budne’s CSNOBOL4 as it’s available on most platforms.
