Would we care for some renderings of the noughts and crosses ASCII art to augment the examples ?
The ASCII art for this one is pretty easy to read, I think.
I like the SVGs.
I think my only concern is that we then need really really good alt text (which would probably include the ASCII art), and dark-mode versions.
Oersonally, I think the ASCII art is fine here.
I too like ASCII art.
It would be great to keep it as fallback for the shell. I can’t upload the audio here, but a reading of the page goes something like :
Examples. Ongoing game. Underscore, underscore, underscore, underscore, underscore, underscore, underscore, underscore, underscore…
It would be kinder to be more inclusive here. The issue is described in the Living Standard as :
Authors are encouraged to consider how preformatted text will be experienced when the formatting is lost, as will be the case for users of speech synthesizers, braille displays, and the like. For cases like ASCII art, it is likely that an alternative presentation, such as a textual description, would be more universally accessible to the readers of the document.
