I’m pleased to announce that the Tcl test runner has been upgraded to the latest Tcl version.
Components that were upgraded are:
- Tcl
- from 8.7a4
- to 9.0.1
- Thread
- from 2.8.6
- to 3.0.1
- tcllib
- from 1.20
- to 2.0
- incrTcl, an alternate Tcl OO extension
- version 4.3.2
- rl_json
- has been removed, it does not build with Tcl 9
I’m also checking if there are other packages that would be helpful.
This was a fun opportunity to play with Google’s Gemini CLI to develop the Dockerfile for the new container.
Note that there are a few incompabilities between version 8.6 and 9.0. The version 9 release page has all the details.
