That’s crazy … but also sounds rather fun. On the other hand, I bet that was a lot of code people were running as root…

Back then, being root was the normal thing to be. Who would use *nix for anything but server administrators? Anyways, the processes were jumping around like they do in top today and the overall user experience was poor. We still were traumatised by tron - who in the world would give the Master Control Program (MCP) a gun? Oh, MCP still is alive, duck & cover!
