Today, I moved the test suites for all Arturo exercises from the legacy XUnit-like syntax from Unitt’s original release to the modern RSpec-like syntax introduced in Unitt at the beginning of this year. See Testing on the Arturo track | Exercism's Docs to see how the RSpec test suites work. The updated test runner remains fully compatible with the older XUnit test suites, but future exercises will feature RSpec test suites.
This was the first major step in upgrading the track to a v2 test runner. The next major step will be to update from Unitt v2 to Unitt v3, which is a complete rewrite of the testing framework. That’ll allow the track to resume tracking more recently nightlies since we’ve been pinned to a March 2025 nightly due to a bug in Unitt v2. This should come out in about two or three weeks.
