Hey everyone, I just joined the community, and I’m glad that it’s happened in january, so I wouldn’t miss this challenge. Sounds exciting and a fun way to start my progress.
I think I will start in C because that’s my first day to day language.
So with this post I am now qualified to participate? Or is there something else to do?

No qualification is required. Everyone who completes exercises this year participates automatically. Edit: see Jeremy’s correction below.
There is something to do though: think up which other languages you’d like to learn 
You do need to register at The #12in23 Challenge to get the badges and access to SWAG (later in the year, etc). We’ll keep you updated there on the latest languages we’re highlighting and suggesting you try each month
