I’m using the cli client. I would like to download the next exercise without going to the website. Do I always have to state the exercise name and go to the website to find it out? It would be great if I could just say next exercise or similar.

The way Exercism is set up, there is no “next” exercise. There are usually many exercises you can work on next. There is no tool at the moment to randomly select one of those, but you could try to build one yourself using the API endpoint to list all unlocked exercises!
